Dramatic Reading of a Classic American Ghost Story

Gather at the historic Rodgers Tavern to hear a dramatic reading of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow on Monday, October 28th, 2024.

Two select performances at 5:00pm-6:30pm or 7:00pm-8:00pm.  Proceeds to benefit a new roof for our local museum. Tickets available at the Museum or online.

Follow the glow of lanterns in the crisp October air to Rodgers Tavern.  Greet fellow guests over a glass of cider on the Tavern’s front porch.  Imagine stepping back in time inside the old stone tavern on the banks of the Susquehanna River, lit only by candlelight, while listening to the hair-raising tale of the Headless Horseman!  This dramatic reading of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow presented by actor Chan Cosans is on Monday, October 28, 2024.  Limited seating available at two select performance times: 5:00pm-6:30pm and 7:00pm-8:30pm.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to showtime.  Check-in at the Museum front porch.  Pre-registration is required.  Refunds available until seven days prior to performance.  No exceptions.

Due to the historic nature of this traditional live dramatic reading with one performer and no set changes, this hour-long program is recommended for older teens and adults to enjoy.  Seating will be on a mix of wood, wicker, or plastic folding chairs, so please consider bringing along a cushion for your own comfort if you wish.

Free parking is available at the Museum.  There is one ADA designated parking spot.  Please note that the Museum is not ADA accessible.  Guests should expect low lighting and slightly uneven terrain over grass or paved sidewalk as they make their way to the Museum front porch.  Guests using canes or walkers should be aware that there are nine (9) steps up to the front porch.  The rear porch has six (6) steps to the back door. Please let the museum know at least one (1) day before the event if you need to enter through the rear porch.  A restroom is available on the Museum’s second floor.

To help protect our 1771 historic tavern and artifact collections, beverages are limited to the main room.  All other rooms in the Museum will be closed during the performance.
